Junibacken

Updated: Jul 14, 2022

Junibacken is located in the city center, in the Djurgården, the museum island.

This museum is dedicated to children and their families👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, therefore children of all ages are welcome there.

Junibacken explores the worlds created by Swedish children's literature📚 and its characters: Pippi Longstocking, Alfie Atkins, The Moomin - just to name a few. The Museum is highly interactive and offers lots of opportunities to play🧸, dress up🎭 and discover the world of the favorite children's books characters.

🚂Junibacken has a story train that will bring visitors to the Astrid Lingren fairy tale world. Note that the train journey takes about 15 minutes and there are two characters that might be scary for younger visitors: rat 🐭 and dragon Katla 🐲. Informed means prepared😉.

This venue has a stroller parking outside under the cover☂. It has changing tables and small-sized bathrooms for children.

There is no stroller parking inside and the stroller is not encouraged to be taken inside.

There are both the stairs and the elevator available.

🍝The museum has a restaurant with a special kids' menu and plenty of high chairs. It does not have a pick-nick area.
